Friendship Anthology Update and Thoughts on Release Date

Our anthology about friendship is progressing, yet we still are not ready to send contracts, as expected. Most of the writers have received notification that their essays were short-listed, meaning we expect to be sending a contract for inclusion. Some of our favorite writers from the previous anthology sent some later entries.  We are still evaluating if these great essays fit. As we read the essays and imagine them in a collection, the type of editing needed begins to emerge. There is an art to putting an anthology together. We like to have the major editing done before we send the contract because we would like to avoid major edits after writers have signed the contract. We are not done with developmental editing. After the contracts are signed the emphasis is on proofing and minor syntax editing. So, we know you have been waiting, and we want that wait to end with a great book.  We are strongly leaning toward a release date just ahead of International Friendship Day,  July 30, 2020.
In the meantime, start thinking about our next anthology. What kind of collection would you like to buy? What theme are readers eager to explore? Is there a hole in the marketplace we can fill? Let us know your thoughts.  We want to publish great writing that readers want to consume.  Let’s do this together.  Share your ideas below.

  1. I look forward to the Friendship Anthology.
In the meantime, here’s a few ideas for the next anthology:
Laughter: what made you laugh, the best laugh, your sense of humor?
Ridiculousness: when do you say the word? how does it make you feel?
Story telling: how it’s important to you, who invited you to hear a story or tell a story ?
What is the best chronological age to be in? Now-why, before, in the future?
