LitFriends: A Life of Letters, With Coupons
LitFriends Newsletter
from JackWalkerPress.com and AmyLouJenkins.com
Dear LitFriends,
Did you ever consider the phrase "living a life of letters?" I thought it might be a hoity-toity phrase for snobby people. At Bennington, where I earned my MFA in literature and writing, at first, I'd cringe when I heard the phrase, thinking they were not talking about people like me. But I was wrong.
Living a life of letters is a holistic approach to life that values the intellectual, cultural, and social dimensions of human existence. It emphasizes a deep connection to the written word, a commitment to learning, and a love for the richness of human thought and expression.
Long before I studied and published writing, I’d been using my interest in the richness of human thought and expression in my gift-giving. Just like a knitter gifts socks, mittens, and scarves, I collected family stories that made up the culture of our people. Like all writers, I looked for the details that made those I love special. The funny family stories and idioms made their way into gift books and framed broadsides. Giving gifts based on writing has been a part of my life of letters. If you’d like to learn the specifics of writing meaningful gifts, consider buying our Write-A-Gift Launchpad Course, now when the Black Friday Sale, Beta Launch Discount, and the subscriber coupon code bring the price from $197 to $37 from Nov. 21 to Dec 2.
